Soccer MADNESS!!!

Miagen played his first soccer game this weekend and it was all the fun that soccer is meant to be. His first practice was at 2:30 and the game was at 3:00. SO as you can imagine the team was good. They only lost 5-1. Miagen was quick and athletic, but forgot which way the goal was and thought he was playing football (Amercina). I think he pancaked everyone on the other team and half of his own team. He thought it was great to go flying in to the nest of kids and tackle them (Americana). He has been practicing all week and I got him a futbol (Mexicana) this week to practice the next few weeks.

WATCH OUT REAL!!!!

GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Rex Kennedy expirement!

Yes it is football season once again and I have found a home with my old coaches Rex Kennedy and Bob Taylor coaching for the Alta Jr. team.

Dave has been helping me or I think it is supposed to be the other way around. It's fun to get back into coaching even though I thought at first we had the only team of all dyslexic kids. You tell them left they go right. You say 4 hole and they manage to all in unison go left. I was pretty frustrated with them.

Our offense is run in a very "fluid" fashion to say the least. If something isn't right the play just gets an "option" thrown in with it. It was kind of comical last night. Rex had to leave to weigh in a kid, so I ran the offense. I had no clue what his formations were so I left that up to the quarter back and just told them the type of play they should run. We were the most successful I had seen in any scrimmage yet and the kids knew it too. I finally saw some progress. Rex came back and things stalled again. I think he had secretly gone to Andy Ludwig's house for some pointers!

For all you new comers!

I hope you will all enjoy my blogg, but as you can tell I have not been too faithful because I didn't think anyone else was listening. It was also initially intended for the use of the whole family to share photos and funny stories. If you want access to be a contributor to the blogg I have to give you permission. Jer and Heidi both have it, but others can come online too. Just let me know.

I try to keep most of my post's at PG-13, but sometimes the FCC cracks down because I use too many "F" bombs! (They only allow 6) :)

So, go ahead and listen, contribute or just enjoy.

I will start you out with a video clip that we just found of (SPIDER JOSEPH & UNDERWEAR BOY).

Old but REAL FUNNY!!!

Just a few photos of the kids and some deer that we saw this weekend. Also one video of a decent buck but not the biggest at all. Miagen and Joseph with their new bikes!

I just love this picture. It looks as though Kristen is saying, "Okay guys, this is how we are going to get more candy from Mom!"

The most recent family photo. It is really hard to find a picture that Ethel will give her blessing to post.

Few and Far Between

Yeah, Yeah, it has been awhile. Nobody listens to me anyway.

Since the last entry we have had some good moments. We went on our summer vacation and it was very similar to the movie with the same title other than "Grandma" didn't die on us. If she did you better bet I was strapping her to the top of the car and she would have been dropped off in MONTROSE South Dakota (it was her favorite place anyway).

It really was a lot of fun. On the way up we drove through Wyoming, Montana, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We went to Martins Cove, The Little Bighorn and little "museums" along the way. It seems if your town is less than 400 people in Montana you have to have a museum in comparison to Utah where if it's less than that amount then you have to marry a cousin.

They were all good places and interesting to see. We saw plenty of antelope in Wyoming and I really enjoyed the Buffalo area.

In Cross Lake we did the same old stuff, listening to everyone bitch about the other and how they will all come down in the fall - Yeah right! I just let them say their say. Oh and I won BINGO! Eat dabbers all you old ladies!

On the way back we went through North Dakota, South Dakota and yes, beautiful Wyoming. I was actually shocked by the Dakotas. In a way they were really beautiful in a pancake type way. North Dakota seemed to be booming and had it's beautiful spots. South Dakota was a lot of fun. The very first mile we were sucked into the novels they have for interstate signs. There were advertising signs every mile for the "GREAT CORN PALACE", "1880 Town" and "Wall Drug". We had no idea what these places were and like I said we were sucked in. We stopped at all of them.

First was the "Corn Palace" which was in Mitchell South Dakota. This palace of literal corn is made into a new designed palace every year with a different theme. It was cool to think corn is still used for what it was put on earth for (art) not just ethanol.

Second was "1880 Town". For what seemed 880 miles we were tempted into meeting "Cisco" the horse from "Dances with Wolves". Miagen was so excited to get his picture taken with it as was I. But to our disappointment Cisco met his demise a year early in a logging accident. He was 107 years old. Your my boy "CISCO"!!! ANYWAY...

This whole town was just like walking through a town in 1880. Complete with skinny dancing girl (who professed she had only two lessons) and BIG JIM at the bar. I will try to post pictures if I can get them scanned.

Third was Wall Drug. If all the other interstate signs were novels, then Wall Drug was the "Iliad". We had no idea what this place was. This place used every broken down tractor, farm house and shot up freezer in the field to advertise. Much to our surprise it was a neat little set of stores where you could eat under a log where Butch Cassidy had once taken a poop and Sundance had buried it. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast

We went to Mt. Rushmore for 5 minutes and then off to The Crazy Horse Memorial where Ethel had the infamous "FLAG CEREMONY". We got to meet the daughter of the man who thought up the mountain carving. Her name was Anne. They had all these great big flags of all these tribes from around North America. I bet she was pleased to see Ethel's little flag, knowing she wouldn't need a ladder to hang it up. It was fun.

LAST...

The best thing about South Dakota was MONTROSE!!!! This is where Grandma Jeanne had to use the bathroom. She had been doing the Pee Pee Dance for awhile and said for me to take the next exit. She said it looked like a good place to stop. I started getting that feeling as we went further and further into town, that this place was like one of those towns that you see in the movies where people are never heard of again. We never did get to the restroom and when the guy with the chainsaw came out from the river bottoms I just got the hell outta there.

All and all it was a long trip! But it is one that I will never forget...

Knocking little men down!

So last night I was able to do 40 minutes on a bike and 20 minutes on the stair climber (ouch)! I also played ward basketball at 9:00 last night. What a joke. It is nice to know that some things never change. This is the second time playing with this ward up here in Draper. So far I have kept my cool. It is a sport that I don't get too excited about, but you always have these little shits that think they are in the NBA finals.

I first want to say how bad I suck at basketball, but I go to just run up and down the court. Anyway, this little puke (who was an all star) kept getting into it with everyone.

The first game he was on my team and I made a bad pass to him and we lost. He said something under his breath and went and moped in the corner until we played again. It all finally came to a head when I went up for a rebound and he bounced of me like a ricocheting bullet. He got up and said, "You have got to be serious?" I just kept running down the court and said, "I am dead serious!"

The next series down the court I could tell he was looking to get back at me. It's just a look in peoples eyes. He came running at me full steam, I just laid him out. It was kinda funny. He got up all pissed and was in my face. I just said that I was leaving. I let him stand up to the big man so he could message his ego.

Before I left I walked right up to him, pretty much to scare the living shit out of him. I just shook his hand and apologized.

It was church ball after all!

It's Been awhile

Sorry everyone,

Even though I know that nobody reads this, it has been awhile since my last post. I haven't been losing too much weight and I had pneumonia which made it hard. But I am back on it.

I have decided that I want to be able to hike 3 miles consistently without getting too winded.

I am going to try and start posting pictures soon.

That's it for now.

A New Week

Well I actually gained a 1/2 a pound last week. It was very disappointing since it was a week which I work physically the hardest, but it is a new week.

Since I am making this trip around the world, I have decided I need another way of tracking my activity and equate it to miles.

30 Min. Workout= 2 miles

Official distance to go... 24,992

If anyone else wants to add to this they can. Send this address to everyone else since I don't have everyone's email addresses. All the better (I can't make it on my own).

I will post a few time this week and keep it up!

Thursday, March 6, 2008

Well tonight I have weigh-ins at weight watchers and it will officially be 9 weeks. I am hoping to have dropped at least 2lbs. I worked really hard this week going to workout with Dave and John Christopherson. It is funny though, I go out with these guys and they give me all these tips and all this advice. Then they say they will meet me there on the next two nights and who shows up? Just ME!!!

Oh well it makes me feel good. I did 3 miles on the eliptical.

If any body else is interested, I am going to find out mileage around the world and and start a walk across the world. It can be walk, run, swim, bike or whatever. If you want to get on here and let me know about mileage we can do this!

SO HERE IS MY MILEAGE: 3 miles
